SAN DIEGO MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY | sariah

Here’s a oldie, but goodie from a maternity session I did this past summer at La Jolla Cove. I met Sariah and Brian yeeears ago when I photographed their wedding. They were too cute back then…and they’re still so adorable now.

POINT LOMA SUBBASE OCEANVIEW ROOM WEDDING | rustin & jenny {teaser}

Congrats to Rustin and Jenny, who just got married this past weekend.  Thought I’d share this teaser photo…cause it just  makes me laugh everytime I look at it (:

FALKNER WINERY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | luis + amanda

I have so much catching up to do on my blog…yikes!

Recently, I made the drive up to Temecula, California to photograph a Falkner Winery wedding.  California vineyard weddings are always cool, and my couple, Amanda and Luis, are especially coooool!  I love being around people who are genuinely caring and…nice!  And in a world of email, texting, facebook, and twiiter, it’s always refreshing to receive a handwritten letter or card.   I say this because after I gave birth to my son 17 months ago, Amanda and Luis were one of the only the people to send me a handwritten card.  Thanks guys!  That was so thoughtful and really appreciated!

I love Lucy…coolSuperwoman…very coolCustomizable hanger…extremely COOL!

Kids say the cutest things.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
“Work in a sandwich shop.”
CUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!!!!

Location: Falkner Winery

The Falkner Winery is located in Temecula’s Wine Country, and a picturesque location for a California vineyard wedding. There are many wineries in Southern California to choose from, but what I like about this particular place is it’s VERY photo friendly. As a photographer, I fell in love with the various textures and colors throughout the winery. It’s a wedding location worth checking out if a vineyard wedding is your cup o’ tea (:

THE FLOWER FARM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | SACRAMENTO

I love many things about being a wedding photographer, but one of my favorites is getting to travel!!!  It’s been awhile since I’ve done a destination wedding, but last month Daisy Varley and I got to fly to Sacramento.   Good ol’ Sactown!  FUN FUN FUN…and HOT HOT HOT!

Wedding destination = The Flower Farm in Loomis, California for Rachel and Chris’ barnyard wedding.

At The Flower Farm, we were openly greeted by scorching heat!  I mean SCORCHING!  You know its hot when you’re dripping sweat in the shade /:
The Flower Farm is a great location for a country barnyard wedding. Besides being filled with flowers, of course, you have chicken…lots of chicken…which is funny because Rachel was scared of chicken.  There’s also a barn…which is always great for photos, ADORABLE cottages, and just a nice country feel.

“YAY!!!  I’M GETTING MARRIED!!!”Rachel was a natural.  She wasn’t posing…she was just waiting around.

I always have a great time shooting weddings with Daisy, so getting to travel a to a new city, and being rewarded with a nice time of lounging by the pool the next day was a sweet reward! You can check out Daisy’s images also for this Flower Farm country wedding at her blog.

ISLAND PALMS RESORT WEDDING | randy + nikki

During weddings, one of my favorite things is seeing how couples relax and transform when they’re finally together.  Before the ceremony, it’s stress and sometimes chaos, but when the bride and groom finally see each other, nothing else matters except the fact that they’re with their best friend and lover.  Not that Nikki and Randy were over the top stressed before they saw each other, but it was so cool to see how when they were together they couldn’t stop laughing!  I don’t think I’ve been with another couple who’ve laughed THAT much…and don’t get me wrong…I get some really goofy couples!

Location:
Island Palms Resort
2051 Shelter Island Drive
San Diego, CA 92106
619-222-0561

The Island Palms Resort is located at San Diego’s Shelter Island.  This wedding venue is a beautiful location for a waterfront wedding.  There are two wedding gardens to choose from for your ceremony that are backdropped by the marina filled with countless yachts and boats.  Being called Island PALMS…of course you’re surrounded by palm trees for a nice tropical feel to your wedding.  I love any location that can make me feel like I’m back in Hawaii (:  So if you’re dreaming of a waterfront tropical wedding in San Diego that won’t kill your budget, you should definitely check out the Island Palms Resort at Shelter Island.

SAN DIEGO NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM WEDDING | nicole + andrew

I love museum weddings!

Once again I got to shoot this last wedding with good friend Daisy Varley for Nicole and Andrew’s San Diego Natural History Museum rooftop wedding at Balboa Park.

theme = dinosaurs

Confession … funny thing is I was actually blind shooting this wedding.  What?  A blind photographer?  Somehow…yeah…it worked…thank GOD!  Long story short, I can’t see through my right eye at the moment due to an inflammation in my cornea.  Not to worry…it’s only supposed to last for a couple of weeks.  But my right eye is my main shooting eye, so everytime I’d look through the viewfinder of my camera, I COULDN’T SEE A THING!!!!  YIKES!!!!  I could see the peripherals of my vision in my right eye, but nothing in the center, so needless to say there was A LOT of guesswork involved.

Here’s a look at their wedding…

Typical action when the guys are getting ready…

Location: San Diego Natural History Museum
1788 El Prado
San Diego, CA 92101-1624
619.232.3821

The San Diego Natural History Museum is located in Balboa Park and is a wonderful wedding location for all you dinosaur fans.  Museums are always an exciting place to get married because you and your guests get free access to the museum’s many exhibits. Plus, at the San Diego Natural History Museum, you can make it a rooftop wedding and get a beautiful panoramic view of Balboa Park.

SAN DIEGO FAIR 2010

Sorry I haven’ t been blogging too much lately.  With work, being a mommy and wife, spending quality time with family, friends, and the LORD…there just aren’t enough hours in the day.  But thought I’d share some family photos from our trip to the San Diego Fair this week…which was also Jaydon’s first trip.  I LOVE the fair!!!  I look forward to it every year.  Deep-fried butter?!!!  Say wha?!!!!!   No thank you!!!  So I guess this is suppose to be a chicken…hmmm…

SAINT MALO BEACH WEDDING

Ever been to Saint Malo Beach in Oceanside?  It’s home to a gated community like I’ve never seen before…it’s like living in Disneyland!  The houses were all immaculate, the streets looked clean enough to eat off of, and the landscape was perfectly cared for.  It was easy to envision myself being on a European vacay….being that St. Malo Beach was modeled after a French village…or walking through Fantasyland at Disneyland.  Even their wedding coordinator kept mentioning how she felt like a Disney princess just being there (:

Anyways…moving on…last weekend I got to shoot with my wonderful friend Daisy Varley for Jacqueline and James’ St. Malo Beach wedding.  Beautiful setting, beautiful people, beautiful decorations, beautiful everything…My partner in crime being sneaky sneaky…Don’t mind the little boy on the bike…
